Theatre & Film - Opening Hearts
The theatre creations of Yasmina Ramzy Arts have included 10 full-scale productions with as many as 45 dancers and musicians at a time since 1992. The company enjoys critical acclaim in all national media and has toured across Canada, United States, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Greece. Its work has been funded by Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, and Toronto Arts Council. In 2020, YRA created a short film featuring 8 dancers and 8 musicians filmed in 5 countries. The 40 minute film entitled “Al Qamar” was presented at international film festivals in 2021. The company’s innovation and integrity has attracted stellar alumni of over 200 artists from around the globe.
